CURRICULUM VITAE

Picture
Born in 1956 in Toronto, Ontario, Terry Ananny is an Ottawa-based painter whose bright, colourful acrylic canvases depict children at play and seasonal village scenes, capturing the spirit of Canadian life. Her formative summers on Lake Muskoka and travels through Quebec left lasting impressions of the Canadian landscape and its diverse culture, which continue to inform her work.  Over the past three decades, Ananny’s paintings have been acquired by Canadian Prime Ministers, Governors General, and the Government of Canada, as well as numerous corporate and international collections. In 2000, her work was commissioned for a Canadian coin design, and since 1998 it has been selected many times for UNICEF Christmas cards. Her images have also appeared on Hallmark, Save the Children, Children’s Wish Foundation, Make-A-Wish, Canadian Greetings, The Printing House, and Island Art cards.  Committed to community and philanthropy, Ananny’s art has contributed to local and national fundraising initiatives across Canada. She is represented by galleries nationwide and continues to explore themes of everyday life, seasonal change, and the shared cultural identity of Canada through her distinctive style of vibrant figurative realism.
