ABOUT TERRY ANANNY

Terry Ananny was born in 1956 in Toronto, Ontario. She showed an early interest in art and moved to Ottawa in 1975 to attend Carleton University. Her paintings capture the spirit of Canadian life through scenes of hockey, children at play and the changing seasons in towns and villages across the country. With a vibrant style that conveys warmth and joy, she continues to explore everyday life in Canada.
In the 1990s, she participated in numerous exhibitions in Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, and New York, including several solo shows. In 1998 her work was selected for a UNICEF Christmas card, and in 2000, she was commissioned by the Canadian government for a coin drawing in the Provincial Fables and Legends series; her piece depicted the Nova Scotian fable Fairies. That same year her art appeared on the annual report cover of Canada Health Research and Development. Terry Ananny’s paintings are represented in collections across Canada and internationally, including the Canadian Embassy in Brussels; The Right Honourable Jean Chrétien; The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney; Honourable Jean Charest; Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario; The Ottawa Hospital; BC Children’s Hospital; Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Stanford; CTV Television; Global Television; the Ottawa Senators NHL; Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation; Wilson House; and numerous other public and private collections. Her paintings are exhibited in galleries across Canada, and she continues to actively create and participate in gallery events, commissions, and collaborations. Her work has also appeared on greeting cards, calendars, puzzles, and holiday chocolate tins through organizations and companies such as UNICEF; Hallmark; Charity Cards; Make-A-Wish; Save the Children; Children’s Wish Foundation; Canadian Greetings; Island Art; Rogers’ Chocolates; StandOut Puzzles; and The Printing House. Terry Ananny lives and works in Ottawa, Ontario, and her art continues to delight collectors around the world. |
