Terry Ananny’s bright and colourful acrylic paintings of hockey, children at play and seasonal village scenes cheerfully capture the spirit of Canadian life. Her early years spent in summers on Lake Muskoka and travelling to Quebec enriched the artist with lasting impressions of the beautiful Canadian landscape and diverse Canadian culture. Her works are held in many Canadian international corporate collections. Canadian Prime Ministers collected her work over the past several decades. Her work has been reproduced by UNICEF, Make-a-Wish, Children’s Wish, Save the Children, Hallmark, The Printing House, Canadian Greetings, Charity Cards, Standout Puzzles Thompson Educational Publishers and Island Art. Her work may be seen in the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Ottawa Hospital, Riverside Campus and also found in Wilson House on Meech Lake which is a Canadian government retreat used by the Prime Minister. Her largest painting, Winter Village is installed in the foyer of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in Ottawa on Aviation Parkway. The vibrant 48 x 96 inch painting was commissioned in 1995 and is of a winter scene filled with skaters, skiers and sledders. In the year 2000 she was commissioned by the Canadian government to provide a provincial drawing for a Canadian coin in the Provincial Fables and Legends series. Her drawing depicted the Nova Scotian legend "Fairies". Her work was purchased by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanton in Palo Alto, California and also by the BC Children’s Hospital for the Teck Acute Care Centre which opened in 2017. The Ottawa Senators purchased "Skating on the Rideau Canal" for their offices at the Canadian Tire Centre. The bright and colourful 24 x 60 inch painting was completed in 2002. The artist has released a number of limited edition prints over the years in the form of giclée on canvas and archival paper. The prints, notably "Canadian Six" were displayed at the Canadian Tire Centre. |
