Terry Ananny is a full-time painter currently living in Ottawa, Ontario. The many trips Ananny took as a child from Ontario to Quebec and her three children’s joyful experiences of childhood serve as inspiration for her work.  Ananny’s artwork has been collected by Canadian Prime Ministers, Governor Generals and the Government

of Canada.

Artist’s Background

Raised in southern Ontario, Terry Ananny spent her summers between rural Quebec living with local families on a student exchange program and travelling throughout northern Ontario. Ananny’s bold and vivid paintings of Canadian children at play in the great outdoors capture the potency of these memories. Terry Ananny received her early education in Toronto at Meisterschaft College and in 1975 moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University.  In 1989 Terry Ananny joined the Ottawa Art Association and participated in numerous juried exhibitions and won a number of awards: Ottawa Art Society; Second Place, Fall 1990, Ottawa Art Society; Acrylic Painting, Second Place, Spring 1992, Ottawa Art Society; Acrylic Painting, Fall 1992, White Ribbon Event; A Source of Art Gallery, Third Place 1993, Ottawa Art Society; Acrylic Painting, First Place, Fall 1993. Ananny has been inspired by the works of Henri Masson and Marc A. Fortin.

Life Work

Terry Ananny is a proud supporter of many charities funded through sales of holiday greeting cards featuring her work and fundraising through artwork donations to national and local charities. UNICEF, Canada Save the Children, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Cornerstone 52 Foundation, United Way of Canada, Kids Help Phone, Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ronald MacDonald House Charities, Ottawa Snow Suit Fund, Overbrooke-Forbes Community Resource Centre, Canadian Cancer Society, have all been helped and supported by Terry Ananny’s artwork.
